Industry Report: 2017 Event Rental Trends
It’s time to plan for “event season” in 2017! When booking event rentals months in advance, it can be tough to pick selections that reflect the right trends. Well Dressed Tables has put together a 2017 Event Rental Trend Report to help deliver inspiration for event design.
Our analysts evaluated rental data for more than 1,500 unique rental items. The results helped us see what trends would stay hot through the end of the year.
Here’s a look at 6 top trends for 2017:
Napkins: Natural
You’ve seen natural tones everywhere from Fashion Week to home decor. The events industry is on board with the trend, too. Expect to see flax or neutral napkins, which have an effortless high-end look, and look good at both casual events or formal affairs.
Flatware: Gold
There’s no doubt – gold flatware is the most popular flatware right now. It’s been on the table at many of our high-end weddings, celebrations, and gala events. The Well Dressed Tables gold flatware also has a good, balanced weight, exactly what your guests are expecting to feel.
Chairs: Gold Chiavari
The Gold Chiavari has become the event planner’s preferred chair rental for elegant events. We expect the look to continue to dominate in 2017. Chiavari chairs are an elegant classic, and the cushion can be customized to perfectly complement the event’s aesthetic. (Bonus trend: we’re seeing rising interest for cushions in numerous shades, particularly Ivory and Flax.)
China: Paradise Rim
The look of our Paradise Rim china – porcelain with an intricate filigree-patterned gold rim – is ideal for 2017. It’s becoming a go-to for event designers who are ready to move beyond standard white china. The gold band will perfectly complement all aspects of the table design, including linens and floral arrangements.
Glassware: Champagne Coupe
The interest in craft cocktails continues to ramp up. That means guests are looking for a high-quality drink – and an authentic glass to match. The Champagne Coupe has a “Great Gatsby” look, and it’s the leading trend behind any bar.
Linens: Rose Quartz
Rose Quartz, Pantone’s Color of the Year in 2016, is our current go-to hue for linens. The color is bright without being rambunctious, and brings a lively look to any day or evening events. Look for linens in a similar color to anchor the table design, with gold or other natural accents.
